Environmental Print Policy

You can read our environmental printing policy below, or click here to download a pdf version.

Introduction and Aim

6274 is a graphic design & print company, operating from Baltic Chambers in Glasgow. Our main printed products are leaflets, brochures, letterhead notepaper, business cards, magazines and other associated products. We recognise that our operations result in emissions to air and the generation of waste. It is our aim to reduce the environmental impacts of our business and to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This policy describes how we are achieving our aim.

Responsibility

This environmental policy applies to all of our operations including management, office services, printing, delivery and procurement. All employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met.

Resources

We will ensure that resources are available to enable us to achieve our objectives and targets.

During 2009, we have:

  • reduced solvent consumption and the emission of volatile organic compounds;
  • reduced the generation of general and special wastes;
  • introduced the recycling of all paper, card and glass waste in the office;
  • introduced the recycling of all waste toner;
  • introduced a policy of shutting down all electronic equipment at night;
  • informed all customers and suppliers of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact.

Targets

We will continue to monitor our performance on these measures on a quarterly basis.

Location

6274 has deliberately located it’s office within 2 minutes walk of Glasgow Central station, and 5 minutes from the Underground, enabling employees to use public transport.

Communication

All employees have been given a copy of the policy and this environmental policy is available on request. If you wish ask any questions or discuss our progress against our objectives, please telephone 0844 257 6274.
